RECORDING: How to Hold an Online Class with Zoom 💻💡

Hello Joyers! Long time no see! 😁I hope you are in a good condition.

Today, I wanna share my experience of holding an online class. 📖🖋️

First of of, here is the link of my recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d_z5URx8ZsZV1CEo8DkrCInZ9T51wQri/view?usp=sharing

By watching the video, you’ll see how I demonstrated how to share a screen, a whiteboard, and a video by using Zoom. I also used YouTube to enhance and deepened the learning. Moreover, my teaching is about one teaching method in Teaching English as Foreign Language, called desuggestopedia.

Now, lemme tell you the how I finally utilized Zoom to create that online class recording. First, I opened the Zoom app and clicked the “New Meeting” feature. Then, I turned on my camera and microphone. However, beforehand, I prepared all files I wanted to use. Subsequently, I clicked the green “Share Screen” button and chose to share my whole screen instead of the tab of each app, and I used it for clicking the “Whiteboard” feature. Then, when I played the video from YouTube, I also clicked the “Share Sound” feature so that my audiences can hear the audio too.

By using Zoom, I got several problems: my recklessness that I suddenly clicked and opened a wrong app; Microsoft Store, as I wanted to open Chrome, because their positions are close. Then, I enabled the share sound feature first when sharing my presentation file, but I wanted to check it again even though I already opened the video. Thus, these two actions made my teaching not as smooth as I wanted it to be. The only solution is that I should have learned it before that in a similar meeting, anytime I click the “Share Sound” feature, it will still be on until the meeting ends, and I should be more meticulous in opening every app.

Furthermore, about the teaching video itself, to my mind, it is already good my explanation is already comprehensive, and I utilized many Zoom features. Nevertheless, acknowledging it frankly, my teaching can be improved by using more websites or software as the teaching media, like Kahoot! or any apps offering games or brainstorming stuff. Hence, the learning quality will be better.

That’s all. Thank you. See you next time!😊👋
